News Details (Posted: April 10, 2008):

Dear Our Antelope,

Full Description:

As seniors we are always told to do better as the class before us, to strive for the best and to never give up. For the past four years Center High School went from one of the most spirited high schools to losing all school spirit when new rules and regulations were placed. This being our last year we as senior wanted to leave a lasting legacy in hope of regaining the support of the facility and the strength in spirit among our under classmen.

Coming as freshmen into a not financially stable environment and witnessing the negative changes that have occurred in this past year, have destroyed there hopes and visions of what high school really is. We, as the leaving seniors want the underclassmen to have a sense of pride in their school, to feel as if this was their second home. We have come up with an idea how to get the faculty and students together as one before this year comes to a close.

Our idea is to hold one last dance, a dance that will say goodbye to class of 2008 and will welcome the class of 2009. A group of seniors took this idea of one last dance to reunite the school as a whole and proposed it to the administration, and with 500 student signatures, 25 teacher approvals, 10 chaperones, DJ donated, sheriffs donated and the approval of our school and administration everything was going our way. Until we realized we had no extra money to decorate our last dance, because of dances being cancelled and new rules were being enforced.

As the graduating class of 2008 we are asking for your support to make our underclassmen understand the importance of school pride. We ask that you would donate any decorations, money, food and anything that could further our dance

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Sincerely,

Oksana Chipak Andrew Ramirez Farm Saelee Samantha Soliai Erica Young
